Ready for take off

Let's turn back the time till last fall. Glenn was in the hospital recovering from his surgery. He went through some serious pain and struggled for his life. We said our good-byes three times during the month of October. One night I received a text message from him that broke my heart. He was so worn out, in so much pain, he wasn't sure he was going to make it. I still have that message on my phone and sometimes I look at it, just to gain perspective. Through faith and prayers and the help of many people, Glenn is a survivor. During his battle, he gained strength while closing his eyes and mentally go back to our family vacation in 2009 when we went to the Canary Islands. He longed for the warm sun, the ocean breeze and family closeness. And so it came to be that the Nystad Health Travel 2011 took us yet again to Arguineguin, Spain.

We had to leave at 4 a.m. to be at the air port in time. Melissa was happy and ready to go. We didn't order the trip until mid-June, so the wait wasn't too long for the kids. Melissa kept saying Gran Canaria Swimming Pool, every day before we left.

Melissa was into Spiderman this June. When we got our suitcases from the attic, we found Michael's action figures, and Melissa was thrilled. She says: Sullyman. Natalie and Michael did a lot of the packing by themselves this time and are quite experienced travellers. But yet excited about the plane trip which was 5 and a half hours.

And here we are at the airport in Las Palmas, ready to gather sunshine vitamines and enjoy the ocean breeze.
