We needed time to relax from the sun and spent hours on the sun beds. One of the activities to pass time, was to spell out words with alphabet crackers.

Glenn kept challenging the kids with Spanish quizes. He would award the right answer with Euro change. Easy words: 1 or 2 cents. Sentences: 50 cents and even 1 Euro. Natalie got his Spanish dictionary as she was the most eager to learn and use the language.

The money earned was used for buying small treats at the Mini Market. And that triggered another reward system. Our kids love that kind of stuff. Natalie would go to the store and buy a surprise for her dad. He would reward points on a scale from 1-10. If he was really happy with the purchase, he would give 10 points and Natalie would get 1 Euro. Small Glenn quirks. Great memories.
