Grace Garden

I have seen different ideas for creating a Grace Garden lately (How to Make A Grace Garden for Easter and The Easter Resurrection Garden) and wanted to involve the children in making our own. I think it brought some reverence and serenity in our home. Glenn thought it was iconic. Oh well.

On Easter morning the stone was rolled away from the grave and I put some fresh flowers in the Garden to celebrate new life. I think it will be one of the moments I will cherish the most from this Easter. I love the way the children were engaged while putting it together and the thoughts they shared.

Egg Hunt 2012

Who is at the door? Someone just rang the doorbell and took off. I guess they left a letter in the mail box. A ransom note! Oh no! The Easter bunny is kidnapped. Better start solving those clues and rescue the bunny so he can give you the Easter egg you are waiting for.....


For each clue solved, you get gold coins. And you need 50 coins to receive further instructions on how to save the Easter bunny.


Yeah! You did it! Eight clues later and with lots of gold it was time to go rescue the bunny. Poor thing! Thankfully he was nurtured back to health due to your brave efforts and you were able to find your Easter treats. Good job!

Magic Beans

This was such a fun activity to do with Melissa. She was so into it. I gave her an envelope with magic beans and then we went outside to plant them in our garden. She suggested that we had to water the seeds and that made everything even more fun. And then we had to wait.....



The next morning our lawn was filled with colorful lollipops and one happy girl harvested them all! :))

Easter Bunny Rolls

I think we may have started a new tradition; making Easter bunny rolls for breakfast. They were fun to make, look cute and taste great. We made two variations, the little ones with tails and a big rabbit shaped one.

I am going to write down the recipe on my blog as it will be easy for me to find it. I haven't managed to create a nice system for my recipes. I have most of my recipes stored on my computer and write little notes everywhere. Sounds like a challenge I need to get to work at. Anyway, this recipe is a keeper:

6 dl melk
125 gr smør, smeltes
1 egg
1 ts salt
2 ss sukker
1 kg mel

Michael Pet Detective

Michael took on his first out of home job this week. He was in charge of feeding these two rabbits while their owners were on holiday. I am happy to say he was responsible and did a good job. :)

Funny Egg Faces

We tried to boil yellow eggs using onion while boiling them. They didn't turn out bright yellow, but still colored enough to give a smiley face look.

Jelly Bean Bracelets

The girls made lovely Easter bracelets using Jelly Beans. They didn't last very long because they tasted very good.

Wordfeud ~ the non-digital old fashion style

I haven't even downloaded the Wordfeud app, because I just know I will be addicted to it. So I am basically begging the kids to a round of good old non-digital Scrabble. It is my favorite game.

Easter Crafts

Since our Easter decor isn't exactly abundant, the kids are helping me out doing some easter crafts. Both Natalie and I had pinned this Easter Egg Garland and it was an activity all three kids could do. Messy, but decorative.

T-shirt Game

Traditions are important. And playing board games during Easter is always fun. Natalie won our game of The T-shirt Game. We had to do some censorship as a lot of the game cards had sexual references. Other than that; it is a fun game.
