Red, White & Blue
Happy July4th! Uncle Arild was leaving back for Norway, so we went to pick up a smaller rental car. Look at Glenn all smiling. Can you tell he likes the Dodge Avenger?
The boy scouts had put out flags on the street and we were all ready for a celebration!

So how do you celebrate Independence day?
4th of July picnic in a park. KFC chicken. Playground. Quilts. Nice!!
Shuffle and play
On The Road Again
Time to head back to Utah! And roadtrips are fun!
Lots of candy. Wendy's in Cedar City. Country blasting on the radio. Card games. The only sad part was driving by the mountain fires. Melissa got her Beauty and the beast magnet dolls, she loves it! Friends in low places, probably the most played song on the trip.

Walking down the Strip
Oh my! It is hot in Vegas. Still, we headed for the Strip with bottles of water and plenty of pit stops in the shade. Meet and greet. Lots of fun characters. Super Mario, MM's, Jack Sparrow, The Mad Hatter, Hello Kitty. We also did some shopping at The Hard Rock Cafè.
We made it all the way up to Caesars Palace. But then we gave in. We got at taxi and went back to The Excalibur. Arild volunteered to walk back as the taxi wouldn't fit all of us. Hero of the day!
The whole crowd was really wasted!
Natalie came to the rescue with her foot massage skills.
New deck of playing cards.

Casino Fun
Smokey and noisy casino. Supposedly fun. Well, the kids enjoyed the arcade at The Excalibur. And uncle Arild helped winning tickets. You know, the ones you need to get crappy prizes... And bling!
Shop 'Til You Drop
We did quite a bit of shopping. Glenn made jokes that we were doing our best to boost the American economy.

The kids got money from uncle Arild and Bestemor Grandma. Natalie and Melissa spent most of their money at The Disney Store and Old Navy. Michael spent his at Fanzz.
A girl can never have too many princess dresses and accessories, right? ;-)
Rootbeer Blind Test
Glenn claims he can tell the difference on a lot of beverages. He has already passed the Coke/Pesi test. We don't have rootbeer in Norway, so Glenn, Natalie and Michael drank a lot of their favorite drink while they had the chance. After a couple of weeks, they were ready for the Rootbeer Blind Test.
Natalie set up glasses and numbered them. The game is on....
The audience is waiting in excitement........
Three out of three for Glenn. Still the champion!
Con-sen-tra-ti-on....

Taking Fun to New Heights
We split up one day and Glenn and Melissa went to Cabela's in Lehi with the Chapman's.
Michael, Natalie and uncle Arild went on a lot of water rides. I was impressed when they went on Boomerang, an extreme, half-pipe style ride. Go, go, go!
We enjoyed some pizza and dippin dots. Great fun!
The rest of us went to Seven Peaks water resort in Provo. Uncle Arild likes the place! ;-) Because of the mountain fires, it was overcast and we had ashes falling down from the sky.

For the love of the game
Isn't it just great to meet up with great friends and go see a ballgame? We were thrilled to see Chapman and his cute family. They came all the way from Iowa and we got to spend some time together, both in Springville and Orem area. We also went to Chuckarama in Salt Lake and then to Franklin Covey Field to watch the Bees play.
We never get tired of the Rocky Mountain view...
The kids won foam fingers on the spinning wheel and enjoyed them a lot.
Go Bees!
We enjoyed the ballgame. And like the last time we were here, the mascot was the childrens favorite!
Chapman served in Norway several years ago and won a special place in our heart. He stills likes to serve people and is currently running for senate. Go Chapman!
